About

Hi!! My name is Samantha and I love cooking, baking, and experimenting with food, flavors, as well as different ethnic cuisines. Transforming ingredients into a dish has been a fascination of mine since I was a child.

When I was a kid, I remember making Filipino Banana Fritters called “Maruya” with my Grandmother, my Dad’s mother. Growing up, I was not a picky eater and ate almost anything that was put in front of me, even my Dad’s family famous goat innard soup (Pinapaitan). I had a curiosity about food and would spend time with my parents and adult relatives asking about food and watching them cook. I started to love food and cooking as it enabled me to express myself creatively.

I love how cooking is an expression of yourself and how it gives you that feeling of ecstasy when you create an amazing dish and cook it for others.

In the near future, I would like publish a cookbook and open up a restaurant. Also, I want to open up dog friendly eatery with a special menu for our furry friends as well. My dog Pipi loves the healthy gourmet food I make for her everyday.

My motivation for this blog is to get out of my comfort zone and do something I can share with the world!  I want to continue to share food and flavors with others and show that it can be fun and more satisfying than fetching convenience foods. You too can “Work it!” in the kitchen.

Note:  I’m not a pro photographer. Some of my pictures may look wonky, but I’m learning. So let me know what you think!

Feel free to comment, let me know what you think or what you would like to see on this blog! I’m here to be your food blog buddy! I’m eager to learn new things too!  You can also e-mail me at snati001@gmail.com
